Pre Rally
Day 1 & 2
Depart Heathrow on an evening flight, arriving into Delhi the following morning where you will catch an internal flight up to Chandigarh at the foot of the Himalayas. From here you will travel up to Shimla (on either the train or by jeep depending on schedule), arriving in time for dinner and an early night! Day 3 - Warm up ride
After a relaxed start, you will be introduced to your team before setting off on a short warm up ride to get used to the Indian roads and your Enfield Bullet! Later in the day, you will have the opportunity to spend some time in Shimla - often referred to as the "Queen of Hills" it is one of India’s most famous hill stations with unrivalled landscapes and history. Day 4 - Shimla – Sarahan 250kms: 9 hours
Your first full day in the saddle takes you through forest trails and mountain passes onto Sarahan, a wonderful little village home to the Bhimakali Temple, where up until the 19th century, human sacrifices were still performed! Day 5 - Sarahan – Sangla 122kms: 8 hours
Today we travel through a beautiful and remote region called the Bapsa valley following the immense Sutlej River towards our nights stop at Sangla - altitude 2700 metres. Tonight we camp, the pitch will be very well set up and mattresses are supplied. Food and showers are also set up. Use your sleeping bag for extra comfort. Day 6 - Sangla – Kalpa 90kms: 6 hours
Today we can pace ourselves a little and take a more restful ride as the time on the bikes is relatively short. We ride right up to Chitkul which at 3450 metres is slap bang on the Tibet border. If we get any closer to the border the Chinese will shoot us on sight. After time spent waving and swapping pleasantries with the Chinese occupying forces (!) we'll move on to our nights destination at Kalpa - altitude 2900 metres. The hotel we stop at has a stunning view of the Kinnaur Kailash peak rising up above us to a mighty 6050m. Day 7 - Kalpa to Nako: 113kms
Our route today takes us further away from civilisation towards the desert mountain
valley of Spiti. Along the route we will take an off road ride to the village of Leo along
the Satluj river. Tonight we will camp at a stunning location above the village of Nako.
Day 8 - Nako – Rangrik 120 kms: 8 hours
Another amazing day's riding takes us past some incredible mountain scenery and through Tabo, a small town on the banks of the Spiti River which the Dalai Lama is known to have chosen as his place of retirement due to the highly revered monastery. Tonight we stay in Rangrik. Day 9 - Rangrik – Keylong 200kms:11 hours
Today is long and quite tough. We're heading over the infamous Kunzum-la pass at a truly massive 4500 metres, which is right on the border of the 2 regions of Lahaul and Spiti. There is a highly respected temple on this pass and if we're on target for time we'll visit it. A 20 minute trek from the motorable pass and we can take in a wonderful sight, the high altitude lake of Chandratal. We spend tonight at Keylong at 3305 metres.

Day 10 - Keylong – Keylong 140kms: 9 hours
Today we tackle the incredible moonscape of the high altitude desert. We will ride past Jispa to Bara-lacha-la at an impressive 4892 metres. Welcome to the highest motorable pass in Himachal Pradesh. Once we’ve tackled this we’ll return to our overnight rest stop back at Keylong.

Day 11 - Keylong – Manali 130kms: 9 hours
Welcome back to a wonderful green landscape after we head up and over the mountain of Rohtang-la towards our well earned and welcomed 2 night stop in amazing Manali. We’ll all be absolutely knackered, ready for a good rest and a large slice of R and R.
Day 12 - Rest Day in Manali
Manali is a fantastic place to rest ourselves and the bikes, there are plenty of activities such as Paragliding, Mountain Trekking, White Water Rafting and it is also a fascinating hill station to do some shopping for the loved ones back home.

Day 13 - Manali – Narkanda 199kms:9 hours
Today we ride along the mighty Beas River and climb into the Seraj valley through the incredibly scenic, marijuana strewn landscape of Jalori-la. Although not the highest point on the route, the climb to Jalori is the steepest, and will test you and your Bullet to the full. After negotiating the equally challenging descent we head to Narkanda for overnight stop.

Day 14 - Narkanda to Shimla: 74kms
Today is the final day we’ll spend in the saddle of our trusty Enfields. If the weather is
in our favour we’ll tackle Hatu peak for a stunning view of the Himalayan region that we
have just ridden. We’ll all be feeling tired but elated at our achievement, and will ride in
together to our ’base camp’ of Shimla.

Day 15 – Shimla to Chandigarh
Today we board the Himalayan Queen, the narrow-gauge railway featured in Michael
Palin’s Himalaya and now part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site - Mountain Railways
of India, bound for Kalka. Following the train journey we transfer to Chandigarh for our
evening destination.
